Dr Aleisha is amazing! Over a year ago I had so much pain in my lower back, to the point where I could barely walk! I’m a hairstylist so my job is very demanding and I go for regular maintenance appointments, and rarely do I have lower back pain! She talked me through my at home maintenance and made lots of suggestions! Highly recommend her! Thank you so much for all you do!
I have been coming here for several weeks now. It’s always clean, staff are incredibly pleasant and helpful, and most of all it is helping me. I have had lower back pain since my teens, and it is finally improving a bit at a time. Dr. Cregg is excellent, and so is Manish – these are the two I’ve been seeing and I’m sure the others are just as good.
Dr. Camastra and her team are the best! In the past 18 months, she has helped me with persistent head and neck aches through acupuncture, and rehabilitated a herniated disc in my back. If you are serious about your health and well being and want a trusted professional, go see Dr. Camastra and the lovely folks at Oshawa Chiropractic & Physiotherapy Wellness Centre.
Many patients seek chiropractic treatment for wellness care. Others, like seniors, find that treatment helps them to maintain mobility and a good range of motion. Pain should never become a way of life, especially when there is qualified help available.
There are many reasons to seek chiropractic care: Work, accidents, sports injuries, household chores, even the stress of daily living can cause painful joint and spinal problems. Even if you do not have painful symptoms, chiropractic care can help you maintain a healthy spine and joint function.
CHIROPRACTIC FAQ
We’ve compiled a list of FAQ to address some of the most common questions that our clients ask us.
Do Chiropractors only treat the spine?
Although chiropractors are spine specialists, they are highly knowledgeable about the nervous system, and soft tissue therapy for muscle and joint conditions. Most Chiropractors incorporate spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercise prescription and modalities such as Interferential Current Therapy (IFC) or acupuncture in their treatments.
What is an adjustment?
An adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement usually applied by hand to a joint of the body. The adjustment loosens the joint to restore proper movement and optimize function. When a joint is adjusted, a gas bubble forms causing the popping noise you may have heard about.
Chiropractic adjustment techniques have been researched extensively. Complications are rare and side-effects, such as temporary soreness, are usually minor. Your chiropractor is well-trained to determine if your problem will respond to chiropractic care or if you require a referral to another health care provider.
Do adjustments hurt?
Adjustments should never be painful. The majority of the time people feel great relief after an adjustment. In acute circumstances, the initial adjustment may feel uncomfortable as the body and the nervous system gets used to and integrates the new joint position. Over time as the joints and body adapt to the adjusted position patients feel even more at ease.
Additionally, Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of headaches, and neck and back pain. It has an excellent safety record. However, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. Even common over-the-counter medicines carry a risk.
When should I see a Chiropractor?
Eight out of ten Canadians will experience back pain at some point in their lives, and at least one-third of people in Ontario will have back pain at any given time. For many people, the pain can keep them away from work, school or even their day-to-day activities. If pain causes interruptions and restrictions in the activities of your daily life then you should consult a health care provider.
Chiropractors are regulated primary care professionals, and they are one of only five classes of health care professionals in Ontario that are able to use the title Doctor, with its accompanying rights and obligations.
Here are some of the most common reasons why more than 4 million Canadians visit a chiropractor each year:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Headache
- Whiplash
- Strains and sprains from daily activities
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Work and sports-related injuries
- Arthritis
- Restricted movement in the back, shoulders, neck or limbs
- General health and well-being
